I was involved in an auto accident and the at-fault insurance company is being difficult
This is Thomas Berret from Hal Waldman and Associates. Today we’ll discuss what to do when the at fault insurance companies is being difficult. I get calls and I’m constantly amazed that certain insurance companies act in a very difficult manner and essentially cause people to call our law firm and ask for assistance. And this can be on something that’s as simple as extending a rental car for another day or two, while your car’s in the shop being fixed.
Or giving you a rental car at all, or telling you that they are going to not be covering your property damage, or making very small settlement offers like 500 or $750, that they certainly should know, are not acceptable pain and suffering settlements. So you really don’t have much of an option other than to call an attorney to act on your behalf. If you continue to deal with somebody who’s giving you problems from the beginning of the case, you’re unlikely to get a positive result from that same person later on. In my experience. Again, this is pretty common.
People call with stories of getting low settlement offers or settlement offers when it’s clearly inappropriate to even be discussing settlement, or very simple things, deductibles, rental car payments, that really shouldn’t be the focus of a car accident case. But insurance companies often choose to fight on those small points. When that happens, you need to get an attorney involved so that they can represent your best interests, and make sure that you get all of the compensation and recovery that you’re entitled to.
So if you find yourself in a situation where you just can’t deal with an overly aggressive insurance adjuster, you can always call our office and we’ll let you know if you have a case we can help you with. Thanks for watching. Give us a call 412-338-1000 Thank you
