Many people that call us already have decided that they are going to hire a lawyer. And they’re just looking for what lawyer they need. But we also have lots and lots of people who call, who aren’t sure whether they have a case. And they need a lawyer to talk to, to help them work through that process.

I spend a lot of time every day talking to people who aren’t sure whether they have a case, or who might have one family member who’s telling them that they do have a case, and other family members are telling them that they don’t have a case. So they need to come to somebody who’s got legal experience to tell them what the actual fact of the matter is.

And of course, whether or not somebody has a case, is a mixture of the facts of that particular case, as well as the laws that apply to that particular case. Somebody who is, for example, driving an uninsured motor vehicle is going to have less rights to make a recovery than somebody who’s driving a fully insured vehicle, even if the car accident is somebody else’s fault.

If you trip on a sidewalk, while you are a business customer, you’ll have pretty good rights against that business owner if that sidewalk is defective. On the other hand, if you trip inside that store at three o’clock in the morning, while you’re trespassing, you won’t have much of a case at all.

There are 1000’s of factual scenarios that I have gone through with 1000’s of people in an effort to determine whether or not they had a case.
